14-Day Itinerary: Southern British Columbia Loop

This 14-day itinerary is based on the “BC’s Finest Single Track” trip experienced by one of our lucky contest winners.

Access: Start in Vancouver | End in Vancouver

Total duration: 14 Days

Total distance: 1,808 kms (1,123 miles)

This itinerary stops in many popular riding destinations in British Columbia.  Never-ending mountains with great trails mixed with cool lakes and friendly towns provide a landscape that is about as close as it gets to true mountain bike nirvana.

Day 1 - 2: Penticton

Ride the Three Blind Mice trail network
Take an après-ride dip in Okanagan Lake
Visit a local winery
Farmers Market every Saturday

Day 3 - 4: Rossland

Ride the epic Seven Summits Trail (30.5 kms) plus over 200 kms of maintained single track
Have a cold one at the Flying Steam Shovel Inn or Rossland Beer Company
Check out the area’s unique history at the Rossland Museum

Day 5: Nelson

Check out the fast and flowy Morning Mountain trail network
Shuttle up to legendary Power Slave (see Giveout and Gold Creek riding areas)
Check out the Historic Hume Hotel and Baker Street shops and restaurants
Grab a cup of coffee at Oso Negro Coffee
Float on the Slocan River

Day 6 - 7: Revelstoke

Ride the scenic Frisby Ridge alpine trail (mid July to Early October)
Flow through the classic single track of the lower elevation Mt. Macpherson trail network
Sample the local fare at one of the many restaurants and pubs
Take a brewery tour at the Mt. Begbie Brewing Company
Relive your childhood at the Enchanted Forest

Day 8: Shuswap

Rent a house boat and access trails from the shoreline
Shred the downhill trails of the Rubberhead trail network or ride the epic Larch Hills Traverse
For something sweet and savory check out the Shuswap Pie Company

Day 9: Vernon

Ride the Cosens trails in Kalamalka Provincial Park
Enjoy some beach time on the shores of Kalamalka Lake
Great eats and craft beer at The Naked Pig BBQ and Smokehouse

Day 10 - 11: Kamloops

Visit Canada’s largest community bike park at the Kamloops Bike Ranch
Check out the local breweries and cideries
Explore the many trail networks in the surrounding area

Day 12 - 13: Whistler

Ride the Whistler Valley Trail and cruise around
Tackle the world-renowned Whistler Mountain Bike Park
Explore the endless network of cross-country trails
Stroll the Whistler Village for great shopping, dining, and brewery experiences
Relax after your ride at Lost Lake Park

Day 14: North Vancouver

Ride Vancouver’s legendary North Shore trails on Mount Seymour and Mount Fromme
Check out the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
Relax at a local North Vancouver eatery or pub after your ride
Visit one of the many bike shops for excellent service and great deals
