Steve Smith DH Event

With summer coming to a close, it brings Labour Day weekend, and the race celebrating the Canadian legend Steve Smith. This years Steve Smith memorial DH challenged the riders with a rough, technical and dusty ride down the legendary Monster Mile trail at Mt Washington’s alpine resort on Vancouver Island. With this being the last leg of the Canada Cup the energy was high, and the competition was for the chainsaw induced chaos.

Cohen MacKenzie flying down the top section as the trail starts to get dustier with the dry conditions. Finishing the day with a fast 2nd place finish in the Sport men U17 category with a time of 3:36.85, just +2.77 seconds off the lead.

The trail was full of loose rock and blown out sections, but giving epic views of the scenic mountain range of Strathcona Provincial Park
